Catching Up

It has been a very hectic few months for us in the Bintliff household.  This being the reason for not blogging in 2 months. So I will try and catch up a bit.  Summer flew by faster than usual.  It was a wonderful one though.  We made our usual trip to WI in July.  We are so blessed to be able to spend this time with family every year.  We look forward to the next year as soon as we drive away.  While there we celebrated Grandma and Grandpa's anniversary.
Shia lost his first tooth this summer by hanging a full bag of groceries on it and then followed that up with swallowing his 2nd loose tooth while eating an apple the next day.

We are busy packing up our house getting ready for our move to Fargo. We bought an old house in the historic are of Fargo that has been gutted and in the process of being completely remodeled.  It doesn't look like much now but we are very excited to get into it.

The kids have begun school in Bismarck and will transfer to Fargo.  Shia started kindergarten and (can you believe it) Shadai started 7th grade. The kids are super excited to move to Fargo, mainly because we will be living in a hotel for two weeks until our house is finished. Before all that though we are headed to Watford City for my sister Katie's wedding. We are so happy for her.

Here at last, here at last. Thank God Almighty...

Summer is here at last! And, Shia and I have the sunburns to prove it.  Yesterday it finally warmed up enough for the kids and I to go to the pool.  It was great.  We were there all day.
This past week Matt and I attended the Kanye West / Rhianna concert in Mpls.  It was absolutely amazing.  I felt so young and invigorated.  That is until I flailed my body down 3 rows of bleachers dancing to "Don't Stop the Music".  Not kidding.  I have the bruises to prove that also.
On Friday Matt traveled to WI to take his Grandpa to a baseball game.  His brother Chris and he got tickets to Brewers'/Twins (I think) game. They sat right behind 1st base.  What a great memory for all of them.
On Saturday, Matt's Mom and I took the kids the Star Wars exhibit at the MN Science Museum. It should have been Matt that took them.  I am sure there were a lot of Star Wars freaks that were completely appalled by my pronunciation and lack of knowledge of some of the displays. Regardless the kids had a blast and Grammy got a little nap in on the bench.  So, fun was had by all.

Graduating Again!!

I think I say this every year at this time but, this was definitely the quickest school year yet.  Shia just finished his FINAL year of preschool and is so excited for kindergarten.  He hasn't quite figured out the summer break thing yet and asks me every morning if he is going to kindergarten today.

Innerhulk

"Mom - we can go to cartoonnetwork.com to release our innerhulk"

And Then She Was 12

It was Shadai's 12th birthday yesterday.  So much happens in so little time.  We played kickball at the capital grounds and I swear it was only yesterday that her little chubby arms couldn't hug a ball let alone reach the top of her head.  I took her as a little bouncy 11 year old girl to the spa at 3:00 pm and at 5:30 pm picked up a beautiful, confident, glowing 12 year old.  My angel.

Protector of All Ants

Shia declared himself "protector of all ants". After squishing a boxelder bug ("blackbox bug") and feeding it to the ants, he watched them carry it away underground.  He was certain they were having an underground party celebrating the feast that Shia had just given them.

A New Thing

This year has been a year for new things.  This blog being one of them.  It is mostly just for myself.  I don't know that I will even share it with anyone.  However, it will be a great way to create a storybook of my life and the lives of my husband and children.  So here's to new things!
